Meet the educators and staff who support children and families, and the trustees who guide the charity.
Executive Director
Saahera Motara is Alamiyah's Executive Director and has spent twenty-four years in education. She holds Montessori Early Years and Elementary diplomas for the six to twelve age range, alongside a PGCE in Mathematics. Saahera is the Nominated Person registered with Ofsted for Alamiyah Montessori and also serves as a trustee.
Manager
Nasima Bobat is Alamiyah's Manager across the nursery and centre. She holds an Elementary Montessori diploma for the six to twelve age range, an NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and an MA from the Royal College of Art. She is Designated Safeguarding Lead for both Alamiyah Montessori and Alamiyah Home Education Centre, as well as Prevent officer, SENCO and fire safety officer. At the centre, she supports children with English.
Early Years assistant
Nazan Said is an Early Years assistant across the nursery and centre. She trained in house as a Montessori assistant and holds an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare. Nazan prepares and restores materials, supports younger children through the day and serves as Alamiyah's food safety officer.
Administrator
Khairunisa Ismail is an Administrator across the nursery and centre, with a background in administration and finance. As Alamiyah's health and safety officer and data protection officer, she helps keep the premises safe and family information secure.
Senior Administrator
Hannaa Abou-Taleb is Alamiyah's Senior Administrator across the nursery and centre. She holds a Chartered Governance Institute Level 1 qualification and manages accounts, human resources and essential records. As admissions and attendance officer, she helps families understand each step from enquiry onwards.
Operations Manager and Early Years Arabic guide
Emine Said is Alamiyah's Operations Manager and an Early Years Arabic guide across the nursery and centre. Trained in house as a Montessori guide, she is fluent in Modern Standard Arabic and holds two ijazas in tajweed, licences to teach Qur'anic recitation. She also serves as behaviour officer and hygiene and cleanliness officer.
Deputy Manager and lead Early Years guide
Nadia Begum is Deputy Manager at Alamiyah Montessori and the lead Early Years guide. She holds an AMI Montessori diploma for the three to six age range, a BA in Early Childhood Studies and an NVQ Level 3 in Early Learning. Her thirteen years as a Montessori directress inform her calm observation of children. She is also inclusion and equality officer, Deputy SENCO and coordinator for English as an additional language.
Early Years guide
Tayoba Rahman is an Early Years guide at Alamiyah Montessori. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Studies and an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare. Tayoba presents materials carefully, then gives children space to work independently. As Alamiyah's first aid officer, she also supports children when they are hurt or unwell.
Specialist tutor
Bushra Ajmal is a specialist tutor at Alamiyah Home Education Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays. With ten years of secondary mathematics experience and A-level further mathematics, she supports each child from their current understanding and helps them follow mathematical questions with confidence.
Specialist tutor
Shaista Kasmani is a specialist tutor at Alamiyah Home Education Centre on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She holds an Elementary Montessori diploma for the six to twelve age range and has a background in computing and education. Her own experience of home education helps her understand the choices families make and the support children need.
Alamiyah Educational Foundation runs both settings. It is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1158578, and a company limited by guarantee, number 08922089. Trustees oversee safeguarding, finances and direction, while the Executive Director and staff lead the daily work.
Chair
Dr Uzma Ayub chairs Alamiyah's Board of Trustees and leads on HR and safeguarding governance. She works with senior staff and the Designated Safeguarding Lead to review safeguarding, recruitment and the quality of children's experience. A practising NHS doctor, she graduated from King's College London with a BSc in Human Nutrition and Basic Medical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2016.
Deputy Chair and Treasurer
Nicholas Hayton is Deputy Chair and Treasurer of Alamiyah's Board of Trustees, with responsibility for welfare, health and safety governance. He supports finance, premises and ICT, including CCTV, and monitors children's welfare. A Lead Quality Assurance Engineer at ASOS, he holds a BSc in Information Systems and has fifteen years of experience in his field.
Secretary
Dr Angela Misra is Secretary to Alamiyah's Board of Trustees and leads on appeals and complaints. She supports strategic planning, reviews concerns raised by families and oversees communications. A practising medical doctor, she graduated MBBS, BSc from Imperial College London and has presented medical research internationally.
Link Trustee
Saahera Motara has led Alamiyah since 2011 and serves as Executive Director and link trustee. She oversees recruitment and works with the accounts team on finance. Saahera holds an MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science from UCL, a PGCE in Mathematics Education from King's College London and a Certificate in Arabic from SOAS. She also holds an ijaza in tajweed and Montessori diplomas.
