Help create a permanent community asset by supporting a £1,000,000 waqf for Alamiyah's building and prepared environments.
Alamiyah rents its building at 113-115 Marlborough Road in Dagenham. Owning it would give families greater stability, allow the rooms to develop around children's needs and turn a recurring cost into a lasting community asset.
The building is home to Alamiyah Montessori and Alamiyah Home Education Centre. Read our story to see how both settings grew.
“When a person dies, their works come to an end, except for three: a continuing charity, knowledge from which benefit is gained, and a righteous child who prays for them.”
A waqf is an endowment held for lasting community benefit. Across Muslim history, waqf has sustained places of worship, learning, care and public life over many generations.
For Alamiyah, the waqf would secure a building for children and families long into the future. The charity would hold and care for that asset for its educational purposes.
This is also sadaqah jariyah, charity whose benefit and reward continue beyond the giver's lifetime.
The trustees have set the appeal at £1,000,000. It will fund the premises and prepared environments, held by the charity for lasting community benefit.
Ownership would direct money away from annual rent and towards a permanent place where children can learn, pray and grow.
Voluntary charity that can support the building, staff, materials and daily work.
Charity with lasting benefit, such as a building, library or training that serves people for years.
