This applies across both settings. It sets out what happens when a child has an accident during a session, how you are told, when hospital attention is decided on, and what to do if your child arrives with an existing injury.
If your child has an accident whilst at the setting, your child is attended to and first aid administered if required. It is then recorded on an accident and incident form. If your child has a minor accident, such as a small scratch or bump you will be notified at the door and asked to sign the accident form. If your child has a more serious accident that requires first aid by a member of staff trained in first aid, the Manager/Director will contact you immediately to inform you of the situation.
If hospital attention is needed, the Manager/Director will make that decision and take the necessary action to take that person to hospital and will inform the parents immediately. Cuts or open sores will be covered with an appropriate dressing. Plasters are used according to current guidance. The setting must be informed if any child is known to be allergic to plasters.
If your child comes to the setting with an existing injury, please inform a member of staff so that staff are aware. This injury will be recorded on an accident/incident form, and you will be required to sign it.
The first aid officer at Alamiyah Montessori is Tayoba Rahman. The first aid officer at Alamiyah Home Education Centre is Mrs Khairunisa Ismail. The Parent Handbook names only one of the two in each place it mentions the role, which is why it appears to contradict itself; the split by setting is the position as at 20 August 2026.
